‘Globalization’ is a multifaceted concept used within and across various discourses in academic, political, economic and other contexts. In order to offer a thorough introduction to globalization, a number of lecturers will introduce and discuss the concept from their particular research angles. The aim of the course is to provide you with an overview of the central theoretical and analytical perspectives on this complex phenomenon as well as to discuss a broad range of problems, questions and topical issues connected to it − such as human rights, new social movements, political communication, history and trajectories of global processes and uneven global development, international institutions and governance, territoriality, cultural politics, environmental crisis, transnationality and racialization.
