In this course we will learn about a variety of fundamental mathematical topics that you will need in later semesters when studying Datalogi or Software. The course will be divided into four blocks

-Sets and Relations

- Functions and Complexity

- Induction and Recursion

- Proofs, Number Theory, and Combinatorics

Every block consists of 5 parts.

1. A Lecture + Exercise Session

2.a A Self-Study w/ help

2.b An Online Self-Study w/ exercises

3. A Lecture + Intro to the Workshop + Exercise Session

4. Workshop Session

We will use the book "Discrete Mathematics and its Applications." [Ros] Eighth Edition. Global Edition by Kenneth E. Rosen with access to Connect. You can get the version with the code to access the online material at FACTUM (booklist for  datalogi and for software)

This video explains how to sign up for the online portion of this course.

If there are any questions feel free to reach out to me during the lectures and exercise sessions or via email at owg@math.aau.dk
